SCOUT FRIENDS SERIES - Meet Katie & Jessie

Katie & Jessie

How long have you known each other for?

We' ve known each other for 23 years. Our dads were friends, and so they forced us to be friends, and it stuck 23 years later!

How long have you been practicing at Scout?

Katie - So I started at Scout in 2019 right when it opened. I lived a street away, and then when I moved, I started coming casually now and again. And I brought Jessie along to a couple of classes, and she actually beat me to getting a membership, so she started coming three times a week. And then I got jealous, so I also got a membership, and now we' re both here all the time!

Any favourite class you both love to attend together, and why?

Jessie - We love doing 10am Essentials class on a Saturday, mostly because it means we can then go and get coffee and pastries afterwards and we don' t have to rush off to work or elsewhere. Coffee and a treat - the best combo!

Any classes that you don’t attend together?

Katie - I don’t do mornings or barre, and every Friday morning Jessie attends a Barre class, so she does that one solo!

Jessie - Yes! 6.30am Barre with Amber! Love you Amber!

Enough Scout chats, what’s your favourite post-class thing to do?

Jessie - Coffee and a sweet treat! We work hard, so we deserve it! Today will be a Milo Mocha, and probably a Portuguese tart!

What’s one thing you love about the other?

Katie - My favourite thing about Jessie is that she makes me laugh all the time!

Jessie - My favourite thing about Katie is that she’s very thoughtful about gift-giving, and planning events for people. and she’s also a very good cook!

What’s one thing you both disagree on?

Jessie - Katie is a big fan of the Beatles and I think they’re very overrated!! (laughs)

What’s your favourite place in the Inner West to eat or drink?

Jessie - I think it would be Numero Uno for me.

Katie - It’s hard to pick just one! But I love Shenkin in Enmore, I usually go there after a class at the Marrickville studio.
