sauna etiquette

We kindly ask that all attendees in our sauna and ice bath sessions cooperate with these guidelines to ensure all attendees get the most out of their session. Please take the time to familiarise yourself with the etiquette of using our saunas and ice-baths.

what should I expect?

When you arrive, please check in with our front desk staff at the ground floor. They will provide you with your towel for seating in the sauna, as well as access to the sauna. You can also hire a bath towel if you didn’t bring your own. Make your way upstairs to our bathrooms and deposit your belongings in our lockers, including all devices - do not bring phones, cameras, tablets etc into the sauna space. Head through to our tranquil sauna area. Inside you will find a communal Finnish sauna, as well as two showers for rinsing, two ice baths, and seating for resting and hydrating between rounds.

Our sauna sessions have a capped capacity for the hour you are there so while communal, you won’t feel squished or rushed. Please note, if you stay beyond the 60 minutes you are allocated, you will be charged for an additional session.

After you finish in the sauna space, make your way into our bathrooms where we have showers, change room and beauty bar to refresh before you depart. Leave your sauna towel in the collection bin.

Please note, our sauna & ice bath facilities are located upstairs with stair access only.

what to do in the sauna

Saunas are a space to unwind and relax. If attending with a companion, please talk in hushed tones and respect that others wish to sauna in quiet.

Please sit on the provided towel in the sauna, this protects our sauna surfaces and keeps it more hygienic for all.

Before adding water to the hot stones in the sauna, check with those in the space if they are comfortable with the addition of more steam. Please do not add any oil to the hot stones in the space, this is a fire hazard.

Once you have been in the sauna for a period of your comfort (we recommend around 8-10 minutes), get out and rinse under our showers before heading into our ice baths. The cold can be a shock the first time, so get in and focus on slowing your breathing to get maximum benefit. This will lower your core temperature. Try for 1 minute, working your way up to 3 minutes.

If the ice bath is not for you - no worries! Try a cold rinse under the shower instead.

After each round, hydrate, rest for a few minutes, and repeat.

Do not bring in any devices. Our sauna is a communal space, and all attendees deserve privacy and peace in the space. This will also protect your devices from damage.

Please note, inappropriate behaviour in our sauna space will not be tolerated and management reserve the right to ask you to immediately leave the premises and forfeit your booked session cost.

what to bring

As our saunas are communal, swimwear is compulsory in the sauna. You may wish to also bring non-slip waterproof footwear for the space around the sauna or ice bath, but do not wear footwear into the sauna.

Please bring your own shower towel, or we will have them available for hire. We will provide you with a small towel to sit on in the sauna.

Cups will be provided for our water station, or bring your own bottle to top up.
