SCOUT INSTRUCTOR SERIES - Meet Erin!

Meet Erin! Erin’s classes mix mindful movement with a fun yet intentional approach to Pilates. Whether you’re new to movement or trying something new, Erin is all about creating a welcoming space to help you grow.

How long have you been teaching at SCOUT?

I’ve been teaching Reformer for about a year and a half, and then I started Mat and Barre about six months ago. I’ve been at Scout for six months.

What is your favourite class to teach at Scout?

My favourite class to teach at Scout is definitely Reformer Stretch, I have such a soft spot for it. I think it’s a really beautiful way to move your body, and it’s accessible even if you’re not flexible. It’s amazing, try it out!

How would you describe your teaching style?

My classes are quite mindful and intentional, whilst also playful. I like to play around with different layers, different ways to regress, progress, and just have a bit of fun with movement.

What is your favourite Pilates exercise?

I think this goes across Reformer, Mat, and Barre for me - a knee drive into an arabesque for all of them. Chef’s kiss!

What is your favourite thing about teaching?

Watching my students build confidence in their body and in their abilities - particularly seeing them do something that they didn't think they could do. Helping them get there is just the best feeling. I love it. I live for it.

What in life gives you the most energy?

It's got to be my puppy. She's 13, she's so old. I love her - she's everything to me. I love going out with her, doing my own classes - yoga and pilates - and café hopping. Guilty pleasure.

What piece of advice would you give to someone just starting Pilates?

Show up as you are, where you're at. We're here to help you. I love teaching people who are new to movement or new to a new form of movement. We're here to support you. And don't forget your grip socks!
